How about we start a thread on auto lifts, if you got one say what type it is.
I got a Mohawk System I lift (10,000 lb) at my dad's shop, well that is where all my tools are at.
I thought I would post a pic of my lift.

the two post as pictured is my favorite, four post lifts seem to allways be in the way and limit what you can do under the car. only downside to a 4 post is that it's sometimes more difficult to center the vehicle for a safe lift, but it's worth it once it's up there.

i have to say two post are better, but sometimes 4 post are easier to move around if need be, im helping build a garage at my girl's house that is going to have two , two post lifts and one 4 post . i cant wait to finish it and begin a few projects!

i dont have a lift but using other peoples ( thank you don ringler chevrolet) i have noticed with the two post... i seem to always whack my damn door on it. Never fails, every time i am so excited to get it off the lift to go try out what ever i just did... CLUNK!

2 post asymetric and wide to keep from hitting your door! This is mine and the place I bought it from. That price is shipped!

I love it. You are limited with a 4 post of what you can do and they take up much more room. I wouldn't have a 4 post unless I could afford 2 and had the room. I will have a 4 post as well one day

You guys are my heros! I have always wanted to get a lift but I doubt I ever will. There is no where I could go with any proximity to my job that would allow a lift. Even the area where we are looking to have our new house built has a 1 acre lot and with a 500K purchase price the neighborhood dictates how long your garage can be open.
Maybe I'll look inyo buying property and just having a home built.

On the other hand I have thought about building a house for an investment to flop in a few years but have a 30x40 or so shop built into it. If you did it right with the house built around the garage from the outside it could just look like a 2 car garage. Have it with central heat and air so you dont' have to worry about keeping the doors open. You would just need 1 bay with a 12.5' ceiling for the lift
