Default Trailer owners/shoppers wanted inside

I have a home made 10' enclosed trailer at home that I haul my goose decoys with, but I am looking to upgrade. I'm thinking of an enclosed 14' with a ramp door, but a 12' & 16' aren't out of the question. I need to haul about 40 dozen full body goose decoys. They don't weigh that much, but they are bulk, but I also want to be able to use it for a four wheeler and everything else you would use an enclosed trailer for.

I am just wondering where most of you picked up your trailers, enclosed or not. I want to know if I should be looking for private sellers, auctions, or dealers. How many paid cash or did you take a loan? Think 16' double axle is too much for a near stock half ton 5.3 to pull? Or do you think headers, and tune will take care of that then?

I just want to know some info on your experience no matter what trailer you have bought, just to get me prepared to buy one this summer. Thanks everyone!!

I picked up my 16 ft tandem used for $800 about 4 years ago. It needed some work, but if you can handle small problems like wiring or some small leaks, you can score buying private. You shouldn't have any problems pulling one. I pulled mine with a 95 350 rcss a lot of miles with no trailer brakes either and had no issues with it.

Good deal. I can handle the small stuff like that. I think it's hard to get a lemon trailer if you look at it hard enough. Great info thanks!!!

craigslist usually has some good deals on enclosed trailers, expect to replace the tires and do a little maintenence on most of them though.
