I guess I'll give it a try. The last time I went to the track I was following a friend. We were both doing about 65 mph. A cop passed us headed the other way. He made a u-turn and hit pulled me over for speeding. He said I was going 78 mph. I asked him how fast the car in front of me was going. He said about 65. I explained that I was following him to the track and we were going the same speed. He said radar does'nt lie. I then replyed that my radar detector never went off. He could care less. I believe bubba had the speed locked in his radar unit and I was the unfortunate one he decided to pull over. I know cops have a tough job, but its a$$holes like this one that **** me off.

Crap!!!! I remembered this from a previous post on LS1Tech. I asked everyone about it and no one knew anything. I got a ticket for speeding - $155! I was down to the last week to take care of it and said f**k it and went to court house and payed the fine with cash. I was working a lot of hours and forgot to take care of it, until the last minute. I couldn't take Defensive Driving, cause it hadn't been a year since the last one. Oh well, I have a few on my record from '98 and only pay $80 full coverage. Not bad.

Question: If my insurance rate goes up on this ticket, can't I take Defensive Driving anyway and get myself a discount? They give a 5-10% discount for taking the course, right? Maybe this way, it won't have too much of a negative effect on my insurance. Next time, I'll remember to send in a check before a warrant gets ready to be issued.

it does not work, you have something like 90 days to cash the refund check
or it is no good. they get to keep the extra money, you still get the points, and your insurance company stills find out later on down the road.
i think the whole process takes like 4 months before they jack up the insurance
for the ticket.
