Default toothaches

Anybody had some serious toothaches? I have had one that hit last weekend. Only thing that would touch the pain was an antibiotic several hours later. Could not get into dentist not for awhile. Last night it struck again and kept me up all night. Hurt so bad I was throwing up this morning. Anyone have those kind of toothaches? I think its just an infection. Gums are not swollen. I dont have any cavities i can visually see. I was born without wisdom teeth, which I am very fortunate for.

Anyone have any stories?

I haven't had a toothache in a while, but I've had some growing up that have brought me to my knees. Seems like when you have a toothache it is the center of your being and every other part of your body is attached to it. Now when I get sinus infections my top teeth in the back start to ache from the pressure, and 4 years ago, my heart malfunctioned and all of my top teeth were hurting (that was scary). At that point though, the aching in my teeth paled in comparison to the pain in my chest...it felt like I was hit in the chest with a baseball bat, and my left forearm also hurt and my left hand clamped up like a claw. (turned out I got a virus that attacked my heart and caused it to malfunction...it happened the same day that my wife told me she was pregnant coincidentally)

Take an Aspirin and place it on said tooth and just let it melt away sitting on said tooth.

I had a MAJOR toothache one time on the weekend, and thats the ONLY thing that helped.... Besides many, many , many shots of whiskey....

Sounds like an infection to me. I had one in one of the molars that sits right in the middle of my mouth. Turned out is was an infection from a crack filling. For an added bonus the tooth had double the roots, 4 total, 2 going up, and 2 going across the roof of my mouth. The pain was so bad I cried. I would have elected for a concussion or sinus headache.

Doesn't that make things worse by eating away at your enamel? I've had to swig some liquid tylenol that the wife keeps. Helps for alittle bit.

Around Christmas a few years ago my wife developed an infection under one of her fillings. Now my wife has rhumatoid arthritis, and has a pain threshhold that would rival most UFC fighters, but she was in complete agony. One night she was washing down Tylenol 3s with vodka, and she was still in so much pain her crying woke me up at 7am. She hadn't slept all night. I suggested to perform some, umm, husbandly duties. By that point she was willing to try a 12 gauge, so I did my thing. 10 minutes later she was snoring. Save your liver, just have sex! However, I once had a wisdom tooth taken out surgically, and I think they gave me fentonyl, or something like that, and it was awesome! Until it wore off, then I was just sad. Hope your toothache goes away though, they suck.
