Default That time of year....

It's that time of year where families usually stress over the holidays, money, etc. While things in my life are better than previous years, it's always on my wife's mind.

I'm sitting at my desk this morning, my manager is out sick so he calls me on the phone.

Manager: "Hey, I wanted to tell you face-to-face and shake your hand but as you can tell, I'm sick but wanted to tell you that you're going to get another Service Excellence Award for <insert project name>".

(Service Excellence Awards have a monetary value)

Me: "Thank you"

Manager: "Yeeeeeeeeeeeeea, this one is a bit different this time".

Me: "How so?"

Manager: "This one is $5000.00."

Me: "Excuse me?"

I started shaking. Seriously. It's flattering and it's greatly appreciated.

I called my wife and told her and she almost started crying.

I'm spending about $800 on my truck. LOL.

Point:

Keep your head up, take care of your customers and the business and they will take care of you.

The man up above always seems to take care of us. Good to hear.

Damn though, i wonder how much you pay in day care to have to quit your job though.
