i was pulled over where i live(stay away from deer park police) and they ran my license. the cop was being a dick and he said i have had 13 violations in the past 7 years.... none of these are on my record because of a traffic lawyer. all of mine have either been reduced or dismissed. IMO well worth the $50 the lawyer charges for the ticket...

Very bad advice. At the very least, if youre going to cop a plea, always "No Contest". You could always plea not guilty. Get a trial by jury. If the cop shows up, make a deal with the A.D.A.

Don't really see how this regards manhood. Seems a little self-righteous...

Sometimes you can find a lawyer who works with the Municipal Court Judge. They'll charge you ~$150, they split it, and it will go away. Thats how it works in a couple towns around SE Houston.

If you can't find something like that, you're best bet is getting deferred adjudication (sp?), if available. Pay a bond, 90 probation (can't get a ticket in that period or you're f*cked), nothing on your record. Usually you can do this at a clerk window.

This is how it works in Texas. I've been doing this **** since I was 18. Clean driving record, never hired a lawyer.

my last ticket, i hired the lawyer over the phone. went to the court room and some HOT lady came in and called my name. i said right here, she wrote something on her notebook and walked out. 10 minutes later the judge called me up and i walked up and got my papers saying that my 2 citations were dropped because the officer didnt show up. i never met or talked to the lawyer. just said "im right here" to his assistant and only saw her for about 5 seconds. it cost me 100 bucks and my actual tickets were around 200

I have a consultation tomorrow with an attorney who knows the municipal court judge personally, so I'll find out what he can do then.
