Default Terminology Question

I've noticed that many suspension system nuts are made of some kind of spring steel, and have an oval-shaped hole instead of round. The result is that they grip the bolt tightly like a Nylock nut, but with more force. What is the proper term for these nuts?

Thanks.

When all else fails, read the shop manual.
