Been wondering if the TBSS intake was worth the change. Was wanting to throw one on my 5.3 but heard it was a waste.

Yeah, you all with 04+ trucks have it wayyy to easy with this swap. It's a true bolt on, plug and play. Whereas with 99-02's you have fuel system incompatibility as well as you have to rig up something for the cable tb!

Yeah, TBSS seems to add 15rwhp, but I've seen the FAST intake add 19 rwhp over the NNBS intake So, the FAST intake could possibly be good for 35 rwhp over the old school truck intake Personally, I think it's worth the $850 they charge for it - IF you get one that isn't crooked

That's an expensive "if". I was thinking about doing this swap about a year ago, then I realized all of the fuel system bs.... that's when I decided that my intake was just fine.

Thats 850 for just the intake, not to mention the fuel line upgrades, you will have well into the 1000k range.. Now for that, it is not worth the hp gain in my op..

People pay more than that for less HP all the time....think about ported heads, stainless quality headers, etc. And an intake is much, much easier and quicker to install as well.
