Here's a view of the top of the engine.

If you look at the far right you'll see they're replacing a piston onto a connecting rod (look at it on the hoist). The rod is about 20' or so in length and is positioned vertical down through the deck.

There's three of them actually, one for every 3 cylinders. You can see the three DownPipe's in the picture that you posted of the engine viewed from up high. I would think the DP's are 36" in diameter each.
Couple barrels' per mile give or take a gallon. HP is 4x,xxx but the torque is 1,000,000.
