Gotta love the ol' EX. I bet your bulls like a tractor down low. Why not just go ahead for the 465? Lol I used to have one with a polished HMF and stage 2 hotcam, then sold it for a 450r. Stuck a Rossier engineering exhaust on the 450, cut the green wire, added a K&N and called it a day. It made 39hp to the wheels with those simple mods. I would still get pulled by and HRC bike just a little, those things are the ultimate sleeper. If you have any need for a new spark arrestor for that HMF, I have one I will give you lol. I have no use for it anymore. Are you on the atvriders forum?

Once you start strok'n these, they become serious heat plants.. I wanted to stay safe, still be able to run the **** out of it, not worry about over heating and all.. Being air cooled has its ups, thus the reason the 400ex is prob the most reliable bike ever built, but once you get crazy you need to watch out.. Maybe the guy was BS'n me about the HRC kit then. I doubt I could run with a bike that is making over 40 to the wheels.. I know the 450's like to rev( used to have a 07) but sold it cuz I honestly liked my 400 more.. Yes I am over there.. I would think the HRC kits are throwing down more than that? What does it come with? I know the ATV engines come with different cam, much heavier flywheel, and a different head, but a stock moto x bike will put down just about 50 and they have been since yami went from a 426 to a 450 in 2003.

Hrc kit, is just a lid(some do away with it, cam, jetting, pipe.. No head changes or anything like that.. The atv was designed to have more tq then the bike.. So it was give and take..

no doubt about the reliability of them... I could see you running with one, I bet your bike has more torque and it probably comes on faster. Cam is where its at for the HRC kits, I think they also have a different header pipe and just an insert for the stock muffler that replaces the stock spark arrestor. Also, if you have it installed at the dealer they will do the green wire mod which is literally cutting a green wire under the front number plate/shroud, it allows it to rev an additional 1k rpm's. Without having to buy a rev box like every other bike. I miss my fo-fiddy but it paid for my turbo kit, not complaining lol

Nice to see other people here ride, I've got a YFZ450X that I love to tear it up on. Still stock as a rock but my main priority right now is getting the factory suspension dialed in to suit me. I rode it 300 miles the day before Christmas Eve and duned it the following Wednesday and the suspension could definitely use some fine-tuning.
