SCT does tunes for them... I've also seen cold air kits, and a muffler and 3" tailpipe has been known to open the 4v motors up... That 5R55 trans is weak when you go adding power. The solenoid packs are known to take a dump at any given moment... I've replaced lots of solenoid packs and valve bodies in those things...

It's an independent 8.8 rear, but the rear wheel bearings are known to go south in those things too.

You know if you get the electric supercharger and the turbo sound exhaust tip... It's good for 120 horse... I mean c'mon, a supercharger with the sound of a turbocharger, no lag, and no parasitic SC draw... Best... Setup... Ever

A tune is probably all this thing will get, the trans is going to need to be rebuilt here soon. It shifts weird and clunks into gear and seems to have a mind of its own in general. The rear end was totally rebuilt about 60K ago so that should be good and its fairly quiet. No exhaust and I dont want intake noise either, just a little better mileage and a tad more power. Kinda trying to decide if Im going to keep it or get her a Yukon Denali, but that would keep me from getting a new vehicle any time soon. Decisions, decisions

If I was more confident/knew more about the reliability of these motors I wouldnt worry about it so much. From my searching its the same engine thats in the Mach 1s so it should be pretty good.

You just sold me on that. Just ordered both and will be selling my tvs now that I have no need for it.

Those 4v 4.6s are pretty reliable except for ignition system issues. Keep fresh plugs and good coils in it and you shouldn't have any issues. I'd be willing to put money on it that trans needs a solenoid pack... Gimme a holler if you want to put one in it. It's a very simple job and I can get you my cost on the part since they're pretty proud of those things at the dealership. I wouldnt use an aftermarket one either.

stage 1 chip, supercharger booster, and turbo sound muffler should put you where you want to be performance wise.
