I USED AMD... ANY OVERCLOCKING AT ALL AND THE CORE TEMP WENT THRU THE ROOF...
I HAVE A NON LOCKED INTEL 2.4 RIGHT NOW RUNNING 3.3 NO PROB... AND IT RUNS DEAD RELIABLE... IM SURE IM PROBABLY CUTTING THE LIFESPAN IN HALF.... BUT I ALWAYS HAVE TO MOD STUFF

Hmmm, I have never had problems over clocking my AMDs, I always ran a dual bios MB, so swtiching clock speeds was simple, plus with the reduced instruction sets of the AMD processors compared to intels, that is why they are generally faster and rated lower IMO....
AMDs due run hotter, that is why you have to get the mother of all Copper Heat sinks... Granted all that knowledge is ~3-4years old, I used to be a huge computer nerd. But I still rock the AMDs....

i used to rock the AMD's as well but i burned 4 or 5 of there high end chips editing and gaming and i went to INTEL and havent looked back since, i have a quad core running at nearly 2.5Ghz a core with no hear problems, given i run liquid cooling, it almost thinks for me its kinda scary

have you seen the prices on this stuff.
one of my friends on another forum built a bad *** gaming rig
for just over 400.
processor, mother board, memory, video card, hard drive,
power supply and dvd burner.
intel came out with the stuff too fast forcing prices way down.

AMD vs Intel is kinda like Chevy vs Ford. So I am not going to get into a which is better, and I have not messed with any computer building stuff in years ever since my last setup died on me.... I do miss the SCSI hard drives and controllers thou

FTW!!!
