Default Save the Tundra

Jim Ronquest from RNT invited me to go up to Northern Missouri and hunt with Tony Vandemore and the Habitat Flats crew to film an episode of RNT-V. We had 2 pretty good days. The action was fast and furious when it happened. We ended up with around 140 in the 2 days. We got some awesome pictures and some great footage. It's going to be a good show!

Just thought I would share a few pics.

The main lodge

Mid 90s the second day. Tony, Jimbo, & myself

Really cool bar top

We get that a lot. The point of it is from Feb. 1st to March 31st a lot of states in the midwest have what is called a "conservation order". It is a season on Snow geese that allows you to run electronic callers, no plugs in your gun, and no limits. The reason for this is there are so many snow geese they are on track to kill themselves by overpopulation. They are very smart, they fly in huge flocks "hundreds of thousands" and if something isn't done their numbers will get so out of control they will start dying off due to disease and malnutrition. That is why we call it Save the Tundra, the snow geese are literally eating everything in sight the farther north you go.

I do usually eat or give to a friend whatever we kill, but in this case we did eat quite a few for supper one night, but a lot of the birds are donated to a food bank. I hope that answered your question.
