i wanna try to fix the rust on my truck myself what would i have to do

If you want to do it right you need to completely cut out all of the sheet metal with rust and replace it. It is a tough job and I wouldn't do it yourself unless you have a lot of experience.

hope you know how to weld. Make sure you strip every piece of rust cause it spreads like cancer if you dont get it all.

Also get some POR 15. That will stop the rust.
