Default Really, horribly Diesel brakes...

Why did Dodge, through at least the 90's, and Ford NOT use a HydroBoost power brake system on their Diesel pickups ?

Cobbling a belt or gear driven VACCUUM pump, with which to operate a shitty Vacuum brake booster is the stupidest, backwoods jerry rigging seen on a modern factory build ... probably ever.

I have diesel Dodge, bought it new in 1993, have 260,000 miles on it, had shitty brakes from day one. Brakes were SO underpowered wooden pedalled WEAK, the original front brake pads went 195,000 miles, and still had 1/4 inch remaining friction materiel, I changed them, hoping the new pads would grip better.... they did NOT.

. A 30 year old Chevy one ton with HydroBoost has 4 times the brakes.
. A 2004 TAHOE has probably 6 or maybe 8 times stronger brakes than my " OLD " Dodge.
.
What was the rationale for manufacturing Vacuum, on a rig that made NO engine vacuum, and ignoring the barely used, continuously driven, ultra-reliable, long lived Power Steering pump running immediately adjacent ?
