Default Rant about selling stuff here and Tech

This might get me banned but I have to say this because it annoys the **** out of me. So much so that I seriously debate about listing stuff for sale but I know it will sale and will help 2 sites that I otherwise really like. When you see something listed OBO that means or best OFFER, what's your bottom dollar isn't an offer. When I price something I look at what I have, it's condition, vs price new, and what like items sell for. So I am listing it to sell, so I have listed it within reason of my bottom dollar already. For instance, I have some Stainless Works headers and ORY for a F body for sale. They are new and I am asking $700+shipping. Some dumbass asked me what's your bottom dollar shipped, seeing as how they are close to double that new I would say that is a good deal. Now for the best one of all. I have a Borla catback with an electric cutout for a F body for sell as well. Again, $700 for close to a 800 or 900 system and the cutout.....brand new. This jackass just asked me if I would sell him some of the bends from the catback since he damaged his, and that he would give me $50 shipped for what he needed. What the hell!!!!! Do people not think before they reply or send a PM on a for sale thread? Am I the only one this **** drives crazy? If this gets me banned so be it but there needs to be some new rules. 1) if listed OBO make an offer don't ask what bottom dollar is 2) if you wouldn't want someone to ask you what you are about to ask the seller.....don't ask 3) if you can't afford it don't low ball the **** out of the seller 4) (this needs to be better enforced with a couple day ban) don't comment on someone's price in a for sale thread if you have no intention of buying. Ok.....rant over.

Ignore them, pretty simple, no need to get worked up about it. Hell my proflow nitrous plate system was a grand, I sold it for 400, it had never even been installed. I had all kinds of crazy offers, its all part of selling on the site.

You wont be banned for this post, I understand your frustration, and I just ignore the Pms. I try my best to delete the BS posts out of FS threads when i see them. The report post function works, USE IT!

Human nature, ignore it best you can. It's why I hate selling things.

My best example of it is hold a yard sale sometime. Mark a pair of jeans .25 and guarantee you'll get .10 offers.

I know but people really need to think before they post or PM. I asked the guy how he would feel if he had a complete motor for sale and I asked him if he wanted to take a couple connecting rods out and sell to me. Basically the same thing he is asked me.

Thats life man, Alot of People never think before they speak. Get used to it..

If I dont get what I want money wise here, I can usually close to double the price and put it on ebay or craigslist and it will usually sell for more money then I planned selling it for. I always try Craigslist and ebay first now.

I get annoyed with the bottom dollar PM's too. Make me an offer and we can talk, but if you ask me what my bottom dollar is I'm going to reply with my posted asking price.

Exactly Thunder.....if I list it I have obviously priced it to sell for what I think it is worth. I am not going to list something I think is worth 300 for 700. Or something I would take 200 for, listed at 500. So my price is my bottom dollar, make an offer for me to consider and we can talk. If I have it listed at 500+shipping and you say will you take 500 shipped then yes I will do that most of the time. It just seems there is a break down of common sense and communication. If I had a pair of jeans for .25 and someone offered me a dime, I would take a lighter out of my pocket and set them on fire.....followed by me telling them to kiss my ***. When something is a good deal I never saw much reason in haggling on price.

You should tell them to kiss your *** first, I don't think they will be listening if they are on fire.

There are idiot sellers just like there are idiot buyers. I'm going to lowball the **** out of people on most things I buy. I could care less what people think of me. Hell, if I can save $25 on a $1000 item, I'm going to do it.

Learn to deal with people man, it comes with the territory. If it bothers you that bad, don't respond. I've asked people before if they would sell certain parts from an exhaust setup thinking there's no way they would say yes only to hear back from them that they would part it out.

Why not ask? What's it going to hurt. Now the whole "What's your bottom dollar" comment, I just respond with something to the tune of "I think the price is very reasonable, but you're welcome to make an offer and we can go from there" It's simple, gets the point across and it's not rude.

Don't get so upset, people just want to save a few bucks. It's nothing personal.
