notice his pant leg is down over his shoe where the shoe string ties. He's got a second shoe string inside his pants that is what you see at first. When he slings his foot around the actual bow becomes visible and he retracts the dummy shoe strings into his pants.

Yep. What he^^^ said. Just extra shoe laces that he pulls up into his pants when he shakes his foot. Notice his hands in his pockets. Shoe was tied the whole time only covered by his pants.
