Default project truck insurance?

Not sure where to post this so be kind... I have a 2004 Silverado 2500 ccsb 4x4. I have done quite a bit of work to it. I park it for the winter to keep it nice and it is not my daily driver. I use it for fun in the summer and to pull my bass boat.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff.... Needless to say, I feel it's worth more than a run of the mill 2004 Silverado. Just wondering what some of you guys are doing for insurance for your hot rod trucks? I would be sick of something were to happen and they hand me a check for 7000... Or get into a hail storm and have them total it. Thanks, Dave.

I actually have a set value on my truck with the insurance company. I pay for it in the end because of the hike in value. My truck is probably work 15k if I am lucky. I have it setup with the insurance company to be 30k if I remember correctly. And it ends up being about 35 bucks cheaper per month than my 2012 1500 LTZ 6.2 4x4.

Food for thought. My insurance is through Country.

Thanks for the info! I checked with Hagerty and one other company and they won't cover anything that is used to tow. This gives me hope, I'll keep looking.

this is definitely something to be proactive about and do, I learned the hard way.
my 10 NNBS had a lot done, I always garage parked it. never thought about the what if... well what if happened and the truck was stolen in July, never recovered.

insurance paid me "Market Value" so I lost BIG time

In some cases if insurance company finds out how serious or powerful the vehicle is they wont insure ya

Insurance thinks cocaine is a basic truck, insurance would never insure a truck like mine if they knew dollars spent

With said dont tey and get greedy

I just have normal coverage on mine...not worth jack really, but full coverage is only like $1 more a month than liability. I dont even bother trying to get coverage for the double-wide cost of mods I have done to mine over the years. If I wreck it I am basically screwed.
