Product Review: GM Header studs...
#12
I was after the convenience and function...The only benefit I see is function. I think the studs will hold the header to the head better and maybe apply a better clamping force?

besides the very back studs which i left out, mine went in pretty smoothly(even with plugs still in) with one person up top and one down under gently situating them into place. then put the back studs in, tighten nuts on and go.
dont know why you had such hard time, mine are lpps but i dont see their being that much of a difference in design to cause that much of a interference between the two..?
dont get me wrong they just didnt slide right in, but a little moving and they went in pretty easy with no force..
did you go in from the top or bottom?

Had one guy under the truck and one above, still had to remove all studs before the header would slide all the way up from underneath...This wasn't a matter of taking bolts out of the heads, laying the headers to the side and then putting studs in...It was a matter of putting a new motor in and re installing headers
I'd like to think between me and tyler(dtr81) that we would have seen another solution if there was one.
Again, this is just my opinion, but I won't recommend them to anyone

If your asking if i was just replacing bolts on already installed headers, then no i wasnt. Put in new headers when i put the studs on.
was your tranny mounted up at the time?
and i would recommend them as my opinion if someone were to ask me.
but would i get them again if i were to do it over again? who knows, bolts are just as easy as long as you have two people installing them imo, and will hold just as good as long as you get good hardware..

I wasn't asking anybody anything.
This is just MY PERSONAL review, and I will not recommend them to anyone. I don't think the studs themselves are made of very good material and I see them causing me issues down the road when I go to replace headers. They also added alot of unnecessary time to my already lengthy project.

I had to do the same thing when I put the new trans in my truck. I bought the studs to try and help seal due to clamping force beens I had a bolt broke off in the head. Which we tried to take out with the header out and broke off flush with the head. The next time my header comes off i will have to pull the studs to get it out.
