I'm HOME!!! Some of ya'll know I was gone for the last 35 days doing my best to bring back some of those fantastic Chinese products that we all love so much. I wasn't able to bring back any 12 year old girls (Sorry Brian), Luis Vuitton purses (sorry Rex
), cheap labor (sorry Rick), or any good ***** house stories of my own (Sorry Bill...although I do have some good ones from some of my shipmates...tell you at the gtg
). I did however take a butt load of pictures for my extended family YOU GUYS. So here's a few of them, I ended up taking like 400 pictures but am not gonna bother loading them all up. Selected some random ones that I thought everyone might actually like. I'm also gonna post up some pictures of the engine build for this ship (18,000HP Diesel) in the Internal engine section for those who have a mechanical mind like me.
Trip itinerary was L.A. to Hawaii to Guam, to Ningbo, to Shanghai, and then back to L.A.
Here's the ship I was on. Wasn't the biggest of the fastest but it was the newest I've ever been on. Built in Philidelphia in 2006...good job guys!

Here's us coming around Diamond Head on Oahu

Here we are pulling into Honolulu Harbor (taken from a private Helicopter, not by me, I was on the bridge.)

This is us dropping some long liner's while leaving Guam (Hey Bill, this bring you back to your chartering days?)

Caught us a Tuna?? Maybe some of the guys who are fishing nuts can let us know exactly what it is. All I know is we had Sashimi and Sushi for 3 straight days!

Here's a picture I took of the Bulbous bow breaking through the water. Have a video of it, not sure if I'm gonna upload it yet.

Here's the birth of an Island...still to new to be claimed yet, was East of Guam so kinda no man's land but can guarantee you Japan or China is gonna claim it!

Next few pics are of Sunset's and Sunrises...

Just a picture on the way to China.

We went through Typhoon Wilpa on the way to Shanghai but of the few pictures I took none of them came out any good. Here is a rather infamous picture in the industry from a guy I sailed with named Randy (guy was crazy)

Here's one of me 3 years ago in some heavy weather...compare this with the one above of us in flat seas...notice something odd about where the horizon is in relation the the mast??

Here we are trying to squeeze into a berth in Shanghai, Chinese people are crazy little people let me tell you. I saw 2 collisions while trying to tie up the ship.

Early morning Fog as we were leaving, didn't help dealing with traffic on the way out!

I was shocked at how little traffic there was going out so I snapped a picture

I was on a dredger in Texas earlier this year and took some pictures from a Chorpus Christie Dock.

Here's me hanging off the Dredger's propeller...

Couldn't quite do it off my last ship's propeller, this is what it looked like...was too big for me to even consider reaching let alone hang on it!

I saw the vessel Emma Maersk while in China... she's the largest container ship in the world (not the biggest ship though, that title belongs to a tanker). She was 1280+ ft or some bullshit like that.

Hope ya'll enjoyed these pictures, most of them I took with the exception of the Emma Maersk which I had to find online. I'll see about uploading some video's.

Alright, here's a few vids...
Bulbous Bow pushing through the water. We were lightly loaded so she wasn't buried but rather half out of the water.

Here's a short clip of some light 15 degree rolls. Earlier that day we were doing 35 degree rolls but I didn't have my camera with me and I was too busy dodging flying coffee pots, fridges, chairs, and anything else that wasn't lashed down.

I wasn't a big fan of this type/design of lifeboat launching on the account that I almost broke some ribs. This video isn't of when I did it but you get the idea...fun if you plan on not living through it.

This is from 3 years ago when I was on a different ship headed to Japan, Korea and Russia. We were in the Bearing Sea just North of Attu island which I try to explain in the video. This ship was 1000 feet long and was a big ****. If you notice I fucked up my bearings when pointing out locations. If you didn't notice it then...nevermind!
