Default Petition to save XP

http://weblog.infoworld.com/save-xp/...indows_xp.html

For anyone that doesn't want to see XP get phased out here is a petition to save it.

I signed a petition to save DOS a long time ago but, that didn't work out so who knows.

I just read that on Yahoo news, seems like there are too many problems with Vista... I know my work (Gov't Defense Contractor) is not going to Vista for a long time... They have revoked everyones VPN rights/access on home computers that have vista installed for security purposes....

What the heck... I have the XP install cd's. Nobody is coming to get them. In fact I still have. DR DOS, IBM DOS, PC DOS, MS DOS, Windows 3 versions, Windows 95, 98, ME, Heck all of them along with several versions of Linux and others I can't even remember the names.

They will fix Vista. Until then I'll hang on to my XP. FWIW XP PRO is by far the best operating system I have ever run. Except that I can't figure out how to do a DOS based Undelete anymore.

I have vista and have not had any major problems with it for 3 months now (the entire time i've had it) I think they'll figure it out, but they should keep XP for now.

I'm kinda bummed. My laptop came with Vista. HP does not support XP on this model, but I found a computer forum where the guys made their own drivers for XP, and I've been running it instead. It works, but it's not 100%. I think now that SP1 has come out for Vista I'm going to reinstall Vista....I'm tired of not having my laptop be 100% usable. The card reader doesn't work, I get random driver/windows errors, some programs lock up, and every once in awhile it tells me that the system has initiated shut down and I have 1 minute to save and close my programs.

I like Vista much more than XP.. Haven't had freeze or crash issues.

As far as security goes, if someone is bored enough to steal my data they are pretty screwed up...

Vista is great, it's just a resource hog. I do, however, shudder thinking about having to perform migrations from one OS to the other on a company scale.
