ok lance. you come highly recommended

what should i do with my floor? i plan on welding on it with no protection. exhaust might be blowing right on it with strait down down pipes. most likely drag heavy items across it. spilled fuel often, spilled oil, brake fluid... most of all i dont want to have to spit shine it for it to look decent. just an occasional sweep and spray down.

any suggestions?

your not asking for much are you.

i know the companys epoxy (stonhard.com) that in install for, which is industrial grade stuff. 100% solid epoxy. best of the best in my eyes. i get surprised at what our stuff bonds to sometimes.

for what you plan on doing in your garage there isnt going to be much that will hold up to all your demands and still look good in the end.

as far as are epoxy materials, when you weld on then with out a blanket you will get a bunch of little burn marks from all the welding hots or whatever you call them. open exhausts on it might be doable depending on how close it is to the floor and how long long its running for. heat/fire is how we clean out mixers. we have to burn it off.

dragging stuff across it shouldn't be that big of a problem once its cured, it might leave a mark but usually fades or disapears once you wash it down.

oil, gas, brake, trans fluids can be wiped up no problem. however if you leave a puddle sit for a long period of time it might make a stain.

our epoxys wash up nicely with soap and water, and sweep up very nicely.

do you plan on working on every sq inch of floor or only in certain areas? either way some sort of sealer should be put on the concrete. you spent all that money on making a bad *** shop, that i know your are going to use the **** out of. if its not sealed you will have stains all over the place. then when the day comes you decide to seal it up the area where all the stains are will be a hit or mis on wether a coating will fully bond to it.

Jim, Look up cement etching. I have a friend who did it and his cement now looks like marble. It acts as a sealer if I'm correct and you can basically go any possible color you want. The darker might be better for what your looking for. Not sure about it's durability really because I've never done it myself but it might be a route you could go and handle all your needs since it's not really covering the concrete just changing it.

no drive yet but the floor is in and we broke it in saturday. kid did brakes on his van and made a hell of a mess. brake fluid, wheel bearing grease and brake clean everywhere. he might be banned

4 cars in there, 4 guys working. van with brakes, g8 with working on a turbo parts list, wagon with tranny controler, mustang with intake bungs and rails and fuel system. soo much room i am loving it.

WOW...I didn't realize how big it was until you put some cars in there!
So you actually renting out spots in your garage or are you helping people out with what they gotta do?
Looks increadible!! what are you gonna do with walls and lighting? Keep as is?
