Default Nice hotel in Vegas?

I'm thinking really seriously about taking my fiance to Vegas for her birthday in the beginning of Feb. Maybe take in a concert or two, goof off & be tourists. Neither one of us has ever been there, and we have some friends & relatives near there to visit & help us goof off.

Looking at some of the hotels online, it's really hard to pick a nice place. Give me some recommendations, I don't want a place that isn't clean, and I don't want poor service. Looking for a good experience here.

Thanks in advance!

We stayed at the flamingo in January, its not fancy by any means but it was decent and pretty cheap. You really don't spend much time in the room so IMO its not worth spending a bunch of money on the room. The flamingo is pretty much middle of the strip so you can walk to most places. We had the best time just walking down the strip with a case of beer watching people. The cirque de sole thing was cool as well as just looking at all the hotels but I'm an architect nutt so that kind of crap is cool to me.

My parents go every few years. One time Old Man called home and told me they were staying in the Budget In Suites. I said it sounded like a dump, but he said it was really nice and cheap. A month later they caught the Ohio Sniper in the same hotel! My wife's taking me there in March, and we've got rooms booked at the MGM, where Tupac got in the fight before he was fatally shot! I've never been there yet, but you can't go too wrong I don't think.

Flamingo, excalibur, both are nice and cheaper than bellagio or mgm

Def check out the water fountain show at the belalgio and the indoor mall at ceasers! Cool placeto visit, just remember you are a tourist, the scam artist know that! But its not that bad if you stay on the main strip.......depending how long you stay you wont see half of the good stuff

MGM, Bellagio, Ceasars Palace, Mirage, and Treasure Island are all nice stays. Bellagio and Ceasars are more expensive though.

I had more fun Gambling on Freemont and sightseeing on the Strip last February. Anywhere you stay is going to be pretty comparable. I got stuck at the Ramada one block off the strip because it was a work trip but even that wasn't terrible.

The weather is about perfect in February too... nice change from up here. You'll laugh at all the people bundled up on the strip when it's 70 degrees.

Hit it dead on. Been to Vegas a few times and like mentioned above you really don't spend much time in your room. As long as the room is clean and bed is made that's all that really matters. I stayed at the Tropicana last time I was there and the rooms were nice, service was good and you are right in the middle of everything.

If you are looking for places to eat or check out let me know. Between me and my parents we can give you a few places you need to make sure you check out

I always stay at Luxor or Excalibur. Cheap prices and you can walk between the Luxor, Excalibur and Mandalay bay, across the street to MGM, New York New York etc.

dont spend a lot of money on a room unless youre going to spend a lot of time in it.
