a good dyno, installed, with computer and all, $20-100k, depending on the type, eddy current, water brake ect....lifts are cheap, 3-5 grand.

Probably cheaper to lease a dyno, (5-600 a month?) or find one used some where. Would take a long time for it to pay for its self. As for a lift, I'd look for a 8-10,000lbs side post. Should be able to lift any thing you will be working on. 3-5K new like Duwem said, or sell used. I've see guy's pick used lifts for 1-2k.

Thanks kbracing96 and duwen!
its goin to be my personal shop, but i would do performance mods for people. i would love to get a dyno and have computer programming capabilites so possible get the tune right the first time. and have some local guys come but their vechicles on there and goof off on the 1/4 mile where im planning on building. about 2miles from where im looking to build there is a straightaway almost 1mile maybe 1 1/4 mile long that we have a 1/4 marked off on. (stop sign to the first drainage ditch)
so im looking at something around $5k for a good lift, maybe a dyno for around $20k?
oh and by the way im still living at home with my parents so i wont have any bills except my Truck insurance, Truck gas, and 4wheeler stuff. so i should be able to save this money up pretty fast.
Wish me luck!
hopefully i can get some of you guys over here??

There is NOOOO way a typical joe blow can afford a dyno for there own personal fun, then comes the do I rent it out to others, but just like a dyno some ricers put up out here, if you dont know what you are doing with dyno runs and turning, you will get some very pissed off customers, especially if they have big bucks in there setups. where you located, I would give ya a few bucks to run my truck on it..
heres a shop i have been to down by chicago: http://speedlab1.com/
they have prices and describe the facility some, and some cool cars strapped down. when i was there a procharged dacoma r/t ran on it and they had a porsche up on a lift that they were droppin a $45k race engine in...drooool

Duwem,
Im goin to learn before i start doin all this stuff. i know what you are saying though!
i would like to rent it out to people like you guys! but for really cheap.
One bad thing, its goin to be out of alot of peoples way. and i see your from wisconsin, if its right. im way down south from ya.
what would you say a average is to run a vechicle on a dyno?
im lookin at a 600hp dynomite dyno, ill have to find their site again.
its for a 2wd, they have a 1200 awd dyno but i think it was $119k.
the one im lookin at is something like $25k?
who knows all this might do down the drain, but i wanted to plan it out and see what the outcome is.
im still goin to build a shop and have a living space on top of the shop. so this is where im goin to live too.
but thanks for yalls help!!
