Quite a few and my family being in construction and oil field all I see are dodge and Ford being used for work trucks. Pretty sure there is a reason for that and atleast with the Ford its not because they're cheaper.

No ****, i thought we were talking about 1500 dmax and ram 1500, oh wait I actually own a half ton and a 3/4 ton, so i think i know the difference

Chevys are not cheap, Fords are the cheapest truck and thats the only reason they sell so many, I could care less because im not interested in a Ford or a dodge, I guess thats why IM on a predomonitly GM truck site.

I dont HATE the Dodges or Fords, I feel the GM is the superior truck IMO, ESPECIALLY DRIVETRAIN WISE. What other brand can you do so little to the engine and make such big power?

Of course once you start talking built motors the Dmax here lately seems to be holding its own with the cummins. GM used to have the best interior/exterior but in 08 Ford stepped it up and dodge did for the 2010 models. GM is falling behind, and I've only ever owned GM trucks my entire life, but I don't let that blind me to the fact that other manufacturers besides GM can make a nice pickup.
Who wins most of the sled pulls Cody? Heres a hint , its not a tractor engine.

I have no qualms with the cumminGs , its a proven engine, just put in a crappy truck with a crappy transmission and brakes. The Duramax is Just as proven and can hang with and beat the cumminGs. So Both Those engines are great choices, Fords, Not so much.

Each to their own, i dont care what truck a guy likes or drives, Mine will always be GM.

The cummins kills the duramax and powerjoke hands down.
You must be living under a rock. The duramax walks the cummins in everything in 2011. I really don't care about which is better modded either, and I don't care about an opinion on which is better because of this or that. Numbers don't lie and it's not even close either...

I really didn't want to make any rude comments about Cummins fans, but with replies like this, I am becoming a believer...nothing can compete with your precious.

Ok Tim you win dude, its obvious something has crawled up your skirt lately when anyone says something against a GM truck. The shear statistics prove that GM doesn't have the best truck on the road and 99.99999999999% of onwers out there could give a **** who can pull a trailer with moving weight in dirt the furthest after they've had more than the original purchase price of the truck sunk into it in mods.

FYI with my companies fleet pricing on our work trucks Ford isn't the cheapest and GM trucks are only about a grand more expensive but we will never buy a GM because the transmissions suck and the door handles rip off since we are in and out of our trucks all day

I'm not saying the cummins is faster than the duramax bud. If i was to get a diesel for towing and hauling, it'd be a cummins most likely

yea if were talking about FASTEST stock then the duramax will probably win. why? because they are the smallest truck, and are the lightest. who wants the smallest and lightest parts on a HD towing rig? though it seems fords new 6.7 which weighs alot more seems to be side by side with the duramax in alot of independent testing(not a sponsored gm test)

hell they all have something good and some things bad. there is no PERFECT truck.

agreed. Diesels have gotten so ridiculous in power, that it doesn't matter which you choose, because they are all more than capable.

I don't tow anything over 5,000lbs, nor am I in to heavy modding, so for me, the GMC was the best option for best out of the box performance for this year's line up.

I will say, Ford ain't far behind in performance, so I was damn close to a power stroke. I just happen to have a good standing relationship with the local GMC dealership, got a great deal. I think the Fords look tough though.
