Default New Coffee Table

Finally got around to making another engine coffee table. I sold my ls1 table a few years ago and have been using wheels/tires since then. Got this 6.0 block the other day so I cleaned it up and painted it.

Nice.
Totally want to make one when I get my own place. How much does the glass run and where you get it?

I have a motor I can use but Im curious about how to keep the machined areas from rusting. Not necessarily the cylinders, but the deck and what not. Just spray it all over with some clear coat?

you could use clear coat but for me it tends to dull the shiny finish of metal. This one has a light coat of oil on all the exposed areas. Maybe some sort of wax in the future.

So a light coat of oil will keep it clean? That wont eventually run onto my carpet?

Go to Walmart and get the "furniture moving coasters". They have a tough plastic dish on them that should keep the oil from passing through.
