Read somewhere this morning that Chevy has officially announced that the new Camaro will indeed be called the ZL-1 instead of the Z/28
I agree with the name, personally.
Thoughts?

ZL1 should be pushing out about 550 hp. Bit more then the cts-v but a couple hundred pounds lighter assuming it doesn't gain to much weight, which would make it about a high 11's -12.0 flat car with amazing handling from the magnetic suspension. Should be sick but exspensive.....50k american or 60k canadian is my rough guess even though the Canadian dollar is worth more.

Lots of questions answered from Camaro marketing manager on live chat on Camaro5.com (pricing and track times not covered):

The original ZL-1 was an iconic, limited addition aluminum block 427, It's been on my "if I won the lottery wish list", so I'm a little torn about the new Camaro wearing that badge...although the new Camaro will outperform the old icon if I'm not mistaken, so going by using performance as a standard, I guess it's OK. Hey, if I had the dough, I'd get one...than I'll have the ZL1 that I always wanted, but with a warranty!
