Well im not sure what its all called but basically im wanting a overhead top runner bridge with the trucks. i will try to get a pic of my dads so yall can see exactly what im wanting

So you just want a beam that runs across and has a trolley on it to pick things up. that would be a bridge crane or gantry.

yea a bridge crane. im trying to upload some pics of my dads in his small machine shop built onto his big shop. photobucket isnt acting right so it may take a while

Yeah to have one of those would be sweet.
The 40ft beam would have to be pretty large but the side beams could be a lot less because of more supports and the load would be slightly less.
