Default my jaw dropped tonight.

coming home from work by the freeway i have to get off
and drive by 2 gas stations Chevron and Texaco.
in my tired state i looked up at the gas price sign and my jaw dropped.
i could not believe what i was seeing, it can't be, it was not like that when i left, it has got to be a mistake.

Poor diesel fellas. It's like $4.25 here in SE Mich., it might be a tad more. Gasholes shaft CA, MI, was it NY & I forgot who the 4th state was last year w/ highest fuel prices. Could it be TX? I mean there were 4 states known to be highest; gotta love gas tax. Along w/ all the similiar b.s.surrounding why it's so high. As far as I'm concerned, & many others...this is TOTAL BULLSHIT on a CONSTANT basis. Doesn't matter, diesel or gas, it's like twisting a knife in my back, every time I go past a gas station. A constant remainder of greed @ work, forget Econ.101 supply & demand. I just wanna go out to the Middle East & kick some ***!!!How much is the war machine raisin fuel prices? Governmt? No I don't want this to go astray on politics, or whatnot. India/ China, bla bla. Spoolin & some others need to kick the living **** outta some ...maybe that would get you greedy SOBs to see the light of day. Sorry for the rant. I need to go calm down now. I just had to vent since all are in this & were gettin>

Yup it's sucks, around $4.20 right now. Sure it's gonna be higher by the weekend.

I'd love to make the switch to Bio but I just don't have the time to get everything setup or a place to put the system.
I'm looking at getting a cheap beater car that gets at least 30mpg hwy to drive to work.
Even if I have to pay basic insurance on it which won't be much, I'll still actually be ahead with saving more on fuel costs.

i heard somewhere that there is more oil under the state of north carolina than in ALL of the middle east... but with only 3 major refineries in the US, we can produce enough barrels fast enough...

I also heard there is more gas in reserves/storage than there has been in 20 years... back when gas was still $1.xx per gallon...

The real problem is not the lack of oil. It's the lack of refineries and the greed of oil companies. Refineries have been shut down or left unrepaired after disaster/damage. No new refineries have been built in ages!! I know I mentioned the greed of oil companies and they are greedy but Starbucks has a higher profit margin than Big Oil? Difference is we all need fuel we don't all need Coffee. I personally have never had coffee from Starbucks. I do my part to keep Miller Brewing Co. in business though!

huntsman = 200 million bio diesel expansion
motiva = multibillion dollar expansion, estimated to be the worlds largest production company after the completion date 2013
valero = multimillion dollar expansion

these are just a few refineries that are doing multimillion dollar expansions in southeast texas

but i do agree instead of companies expanding they need to build new refineries,

lowback, this may have what caused so many expansions in southeast texas.. what refineries have been left damaged and unrepaired in your area, the ones damaged here have not only been repaired but are expanding them to produce more gas and such...

Has anyone actually "quit driving" or "quit going anywhere" because of gas prices? I'm sure a good bit of people may have slowed down or have started car pooling to save money and gas. Come on though, have these insane gas prices actually slowed down fuel consumption enough that it helps the oil companies keep up with the demand? In my opinion, hell no it has not. As a result, everything has started going through the roof. Been to the grocery store lately? Nothing will change until the economy completely crashes.
I dont buy all the smoke being blown up our asses about this. Something can be done, just a shame the people that control it are so damn wealthy that 50 dollar a gallon gas wouldnt hurt them, so they just dont give a ****.
