My brother took his own life last night....
#58
Just dropped in and I feel compelled to add a bit of retrospect:
After more than a month, it's surely set in. Sorry to know these things happen all too frequently, but they do. I lost a brother many years ago and know what it's like. In time, you'll be able to remember the better times and not dwell on the bad endings too much, but notice more, the new beginnings.
Some said my brother killed himself, and while he had trouble with his g/f, I still don't really accept suicide because he had so much to live for. When my time comes, I'll know the real truth. Until then, I continue to move on with life and never forget what he meant to me and my family. He will forever be missed by us and we've grown tremoendously together as a result. I still remember him and smile, even at moments like this, when the agony rushes back. My mother took it worse than anyone for obvious reasons, but even she has healed beyond expectations and we're all thankful to God for that.
No matter what "life" throws at you, push forward. You'll be stronger and happier for it. Moreover, you're family will be grateful, even though you don't think they know or could understand your situation. The older you get, the more you figure out. There's a reason for everything, even that which we cannot understand at the time.
