Default Multi-media question(s)

I am adding my desktop tower to my TV / media setup, but I am leaving the tower, wireless router, modem and printer in another room. They are already networked together already. What I am planning on doing is running an HDMI cable from the tower to the TV for video. There is only a VGA out for video on the tower, so I'm going to use an adapter. But that still wont give me sound, right? I still need to run some audio wires for sound from the computer?

What are the typical HDMI ends, male or female?

amazon has VGA to HDMI converters for both male to female and female to male, so I just need to know what the typical configuration is for the hdmi line, so I know what converter to get.

I would look for a video card that supports HDMI and audio. It'll just cause a lot less headaches and be an easier install. They can be had for under a hundred bucks I believe.

You'll still have to run audio wires. HDMI cables are typically Male/Male.

What are you planning for keyboard and mouse?

for a keyboard...

That will work fine, I'm not looking to do any real typing, just web addresses and whatnot.

Larsy87 mentioned a new video card that supports HDMI. I know thats the correct way to do it, but Im trying to keep cost down. Can I get away with this...

with 50' of hdmi cable, the mini keyboard three hdmi 90s and the vga-hdmi converter, my amazon cart is at $60.
