Motor...Wrong Forum?
ok i donno if this is the right place or not, but i have a 5.3 lt motor out of my 01 silverado and it has about 60k miles on it. I have this guy that just bought a truck and it has the 4.8 in it and want to buy my motor. Only problem is, I have no idea what it would sell for? I had planed on getting a 6 lt for my truck and this seems as if though it is the perfect thing for me. Do you all have any ideas on how much my motor would go for and how much it would cost me to have a 6 lt put in assuming i did it all myself. Mods feel free to move this if it is the wrong forum.

I would sell the 5.3L if it was me for 600 just the shortblock and heads that seems to be what the 5.3s are going for, for a decent 5.3 unfortunately they arent worth much everyone wants the 6L. If you can pull it off tell him 1K and see what he says and go from there. A good 30Kish mileage 6l will run you close to 1300 from what I remember when I bought my 6L block.

What all are you planning to sell with the engine? If its complete, you may get $750 I would guess. I paid $1000 for my 6l complete intake to oil pan. They seem hard to sell, cause if Im gonna spend $750 for a 5.3 long block, or $1000 for the complete 6.0 engine, what would you do? I know a few 4.8's around here I could pick up for about $250
