Ok guys. I found a motor for my V8 swap that is just the right price. But the shipping is gonna kill me at $350. That is thru UPS Freight. The motor is comming from Rahway, New Jersey and beeing shipped to Lawton, Ok. So is there a better place to look at as far as shipping so that it wount kill me on price. I don't want to pay more than like $150-$200. Is this possible. I don't know who I could use.
And how much does a complete 5.3 weigh?

I have never used this site... http://www.freightcenter.com/common%20carrier.htm ...but IMO, something like a motor or trans would be better suited thru a "real" freight company. UPS and FEDEX will not admit it, but there pricing is designed around "NOW" or "ASAP". I have a fedex account, they are useful and it can be fairly well priced, but on large items seems to me the freight companies infrastructure on pricing can't be beat. Won't hurt to call a few at least. I'd guess paying somehwere north of 200 bucks for a non-account shipment would be expected.
