Default modded the dmax some more

got the truck all done for the outside right now .

finsihed the lift last weekend with all the goodies . had to order new shocks for the rear since the ones i got with the kit were way too long . thos should be here tuesday and i can sell these for a a profit even after buying the new ones. i finsihed installing the amp research running boards with the led light kit this morning . i have not seen an after market product made this well in a long time ( fit was perfect , quality was top notch , instructions were very detailed ) im very happy with how they look and function . install was pretty easy just involved with time . had to remove both door panels to get into the factory door triggers. the wiring kit it came with was also great and easy to hide

installed the grill this week as well and i cant say the fit was as good but not to bad . i havent seen another hd with this grill so thats a plus . im going to do the back up camera install tomorrow but wont get to a tech 2 until next week to program the radio to recognize the reverse camera. i also had some escalade handles that i was going to put in but i think i like the painted ones better.here are some recent shots of it

lastly ill be doing the stereo upgrade next week as im still trying to figure out exactly what i plan to do . so far i have a single 13 tw5 jl sub , a 500/1 jl amp for the sub , a 300/4 jl high amp , and a cleansweep. my plan is to keep the stokc hu and use the cleansweep to get a clean source out of it to power the bose highs and run the tw5. i may go with some nice high's and replcae the bose and wait a few more weeks on doing it . i know i want something with a silk tweeter. so focal or jl zr are my choices however the jl doesne tuse a silf tweet and the focals are $$$$.

and if any one is decent with photochop can you guys color match the front bumper and caps to the grey color so i can decide i am going to change it ?

still need to find some led tails to smoke as well. after this is done time to focus on the SS and a trialer to go pick it up .

WOW. That monster looks really good. Love those amp research steps. They are the cats meow. I am betting you plan on keeping this truck for a long long long time.

i really like it so i think ill keep it until its paid for . especially if i get 750 k out of it . a friend keeps telling me to get ready for motor mods .

he wants me to do a rbp side exit black exhaust from turbo back , a ppe programmer / lift pump and a mike l trans with a pi stall .

he thinks i can get 500+rwhp 1100+ rwtq and be reliable , i have my doubts but man would that be fun.

No doubts on that kind of power and reliabilty. Get EFI live DSP5 tuning and be done with it.

im running a 530 RWHP tune , Have been over 500 rwhp for 2 years now, no probs. Lots of fun.

Def have Mike L build your trans, he is the best. And you'll love the PI converter ( M L series). Ive had mine for over two years with no probs, does everything great. Really well built unit.

man your not helping .

the bad thing is 2010 was the year that required dEEzals to be smogged . in fact mine needs one this next week . sucks *** .

it would be amazing to see a truck run low 10's and then see the truck that pulled it there run low 12's with 37 inch tires.

how hard are you on that truck ? i dont think i would need more than 500/1000 , id like to eventually add some getty up but reliability is more important to me than anything after the last 5 years with the SS .

I'll be very honest with you. I take excellent care of my truck,

I m not afraid to get on my truck, i love feeling all that torque. I dont drive retarded, but def. like to get on it and will do runs up to 110-120- and let off to play. Have always done this since i bought the truck new. Ive took it to the track also. As` well as tow all the time, from car haulers to 28 foot enclosed trailers to bobcats. This beast is a locomotive.

Its all in the tuning and how you take care of it as im sure you know.

You can run 12's with those big 37's, but not low 12's with them unless you swap on the stockers.

Reliability is important to me too, as this truck cost so much i dont want it to break, its tough as nails. No comparison to a half ton gasser at all.

Get a good tune,( with a DSP5 switch) I reccomend Dustin at Diesel addiction. Get a at bare minimum a trans go shift kit , and get a good turbo back exhaust. Its all pipe, save your money and buy a summit turbo back and then put a nice tip on it. Dont pay big bucks for a RBP or MBRP . I went that route and know.

I know my truck would pass emissions even with my turbo back exhaust unless they need to 'see' a cat. You might just have to do the stock cat swap once a year.

And you'll need a good lift pump, get an air dog.

You'll need a built trans / converter to run 12's and be reliable with those big tires. See Mike L. He is the best and he's in your back yard.

Hell yeah running your SS in the 10's then following with a 12 sec. tow vehicle is SICK !
