A guy I work with is selling it. He said it ran when he parked it, and has started it every once in awhile since it has been parked (since '97 he claims)
Its a white one with a 305, and hes giving me the IROC ground effects and a cowl hood for free. He said it will need all new fluids (oil, tranny filter/fluid, rear end fluid), tires, a battery, and probably ignition stuff (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc.)
He wants $500 for it, and im going to take a look at it tomorrow
Whatcha think, should I do it?
Its either 500 for a 3rd gen camaro, or i keep saving for a built tranny and stall for the truck. But I think a 2nd car would be pretty sweet.

It would definatly be nice to have a second ride, those 305's are strong motors, they arent really fast but they are fun, i had a 91 caprice with the 305, sold it with 210,000miles, origianal motor and tranny. i drove the crap out of it too, but it held up.
i would want to drive around in it before i bought it though!

I have 3 turdgens and have owned many more over the years. I like them, they're fun and cheap to work on, but they are rattle traps, ride like crap, and seem to always need something fixed. For $500 who cares, go for it- if nothing else you can get $250 or so for the cowl hood on TGO.

I'd say $500 is worth it, especially with the cowl hood and IROC kit thrown in. Sitting for 10+ years and "started once in a while" is usually not a good sign though. Just curious....is it a carburated or Crossfire 305? The Crossfire intakes are pretty rare, even though they didn't work well.

Its a carburated L69 305 from what I've been told. The reason it has been sitting is because he said it got horrible gas mileage before he parked it, and he picked up a very nice 90 IROC that he drove instead.
I'm trying to get ahold of him to go take a look at it right now.
