In the middle of my first LS engine and trans install
and.... damn it sucks to only have evenings.
Since I don't really know what I'm doing here this has been a learning experience.
I had three days of just transmission install, and reinstall, and reinstall, then found the ate up lockup oring, damn glad I did, and figured out exactly what the 4L80 wants to be right with the world.... Sheesh.
My wife has been cool about me dissappearing as soon as I get home every night but something tells me that will end.
Oh. and these ebay valve covers and their cheesy bolts suck monkey *****.
I bet I have three hours tonight trying to aim and fire a small bolt into what seems like a moving hole in the head.
Did I mention the ate up threads in the oil pressure spot... Didn't find that until the Napa sender I brought home was about 2 threads longer than what was in there previously.
Oh and after I fixed that I learned that the cam sensor wires do NOT appreciate being left under the valley cover while the bolts are torqued.
(insert Homer DOH emoticon here)
Nothing like soldering 1/2 inch long wires right up next to the firewall.
I know these trucks are not supposed to be this complicated but damn I could sure use a hand around here...
btw - I hate emoticons. Way overused. Way more fun to use sarcasm...

Well dumb question I guess, who did the work in your sig if you are having this much issue with a trans and engine swap?
Where are you? Theres probably a memeber nearby or local forum you can ask from help from if you are really struggling.

Just keep the same attitude you have now and you'll be fine
Sometimes you just have to take an evening or two away from it and hit it again. I've been there, sometimes for me that's the only way to stay sane.

I bought the truck with most of the mods mods in my sig but....
Last fall my something in my Revmax converter sent metal through the transmission taking it out.
While RPM was rebuilding it I pullled the engine in search of the reason for my low oil pressure and found the main and rod bearings were in bad shape.
So I had the crank ground and put it back together.
I'm in Terre Haute, IN and have had no luck so far finding any members from around here.
I think I've just about got it whipped.
Added all fluids last night.
Just need to connect exhaust, coils and plug wires, and a couple grounds and it will be ready to go.

It's nice to have good oil pressure again.
