as far as I can tell. most of the problems that have occurred have been over on Tech and not pt.net
Word filters, no gun topics, sponsor bs. It's like they forgot about us. So things over here should be okay for a while as long as they focus on the other section.
We still have good mods on our side so things should be fine. At least until they get the truck section going over there.

This is the first forum I joined back in the LS1Tech days when we just had a truck section and I'll be damned if I'll leave it because of new ownership. I've always gotten along with the old Admins and never had a problem with them; and I'm sure they'll do well in their new venture so let's just keep the pt.net mafia going guys.

Was all this because of Internet Brands, or was it the old mods doings? Looks like if they done something to the format over there, then it would also apply over here.

Although I'm new around here, I was on a previous truck site that went through the same thing (I think), people were not happy with some thngs and left to make their own site. It didn't go well in the end, and things like this never do, I this does though... There's lots of great people and information on this site....

Hey, what's a good cam for my 5.3?

Couldn't resist...

If they forgot bout us, this time under these circumstances, that's not exactly a bad thing, is it?

These 3 statements hit the nail on the head. I've found I don't need to use my b.s. filter w/ great people like you & others on PT. You can weed out who's talkin **** by the questions or answers they say. The knowledge is here, the jokes, etc. Trucks have to be built different just due to gettin weight off the line. Try tellin car guys that. They'll say stuff, like buy a Vette or ? The extra weight of trucks is even harder on 4L60e than light cars. Blabla... We all use the same powerplants, then why should we be snubbed off?

but I am supporting my truck friends. Last time I checked this site isn't "too" litterted with ads or ANY pop ups. Advertising and marketing is a requirement on the internet, do you remember when corporate wasn't around? How was the connection working out for ya? The trick is balancing advertising with the members of forums as to not not make the site appear trashy or nothing but an advertisement. I like it here (haven't been around lately) and as long as there is no restriction on our posts from IB and no ads getting put into our posts (that will do me in, sorry)...I will still be around, lurking...waiting for one of your ugly mugs to be posted so I can chop it. I of course support the originators, the fathers and their staff and friends. But our site here is pretty damn good in my opinion. The car market is just larger and fuller of all walks of life. Problems and snootiness are bound to be the fly in the ointment. I say carry on and stop posting links to a bunch of sites to be a member on. Nobody is gonna filter you here, if so...then we'll all migrate somewhere else at that time. Settle down and keep your trucks and pt.net full throttle boys and girls, full throttle!

Ill never leave this site. Yea Ill go over there and read and post like other numerous forums Im on, but Ill still call this home. There is nothing wrong with this forum and there is so much information on this forum. I dont get on Tech for alot of reasons, I always saw these as two different sites they way they are done.

If ads work their way into our posts, I'm done. You know, yrs ago I remember readin car mags when they were $1.50 ea. Then, this co. buys out that one, merges here, there & everywhere. Yesterday, $5.99 for most every mag like. I've bought them along the way a great deal. But, at $5.99, I've bout reached my limit. For what's it worth, I remember when Sport Truck 1st came out, IIRC, in '89. I have the 1st issue. I wanted a truck since I was bout 14. In '89, I would've been 18. I didn't buy my 1st new vehicle( new not used) til I was 34. That was my 04 Silvy. That's a long time. I was waiting to get 1 in a certain color it, & when GM offered it, I pounced. I was just bout to go w/ Indigo Blue but saw Arrival on a GM press truck. That did it for me. When GM said Arrival Blue was ending, I pushed up my timeline a yr early. If they hadn't offered a bright blue, I planned to paint it a HoK blue but GM saved me the trouble. While I might not buy a mag @ $6, the greed of the publishing co. could be the end of the line for my $ going to them.

To have a truck to be proud of has been a dream yrs in the makin. I wanted a sport truck that does what I want. Some may like what you or the next person does, but as long as it makes u happy, life is good. Just as everyone knows what they like, it's great to talk thru web or meet great people w/ common interests.
I support my hobby, but everyone has limits. To date, Pt.net hasn't disappointed. Let's keep it that way.

This is home.
