Default Low budget high performance baby mover?

I posted before about getting another single cab truck to modify and I am still considering it.

I have my ECSB that has been taking a small beating over the last few months. Backed into a minivan full of kids (slow speed) and dented my bumper, Some psycho nutbag had a temper tantrum yesterday on the 15 and tried ramming my truck in traffic. I have a blue streak and a dent from his Regal now. Needs shocks, needs brakes, etc.

This truck will no doubt be with me for a very long time, but as I use it more and more (full time DD and work truck), I think it's unrealistic to keep in pristine condition.

I was considering getting a single cab to build. At least this way I can swap trannies and put this back to stock. I am exploring other options because my wife is 4 months pregnant. A RCSB is my first choice, but I know I'll be needing to haul the kid around, so I need something more suitable, that can still kick some ***.

I have a hard time remembering what's out there.

so far I was thinking of a WRX Wagon, or sedan.

I like the idea of the older BMW 740I, like a 2001, but I don't know what I'd be in for as far as maintenance and repairs. That would be a bit more, but I might be able to make it work.

Thoughts on something around $15-$18k?

I hate the way they look. It's probably the most logical choice, I just have never liked them.

I was cruising Craigslist earlier and ran across some that are pretty sweet. I wouldn't mind having one or a TBSS.

That's another one I do like, TBSS. I could go for one of those.

Pontiac G8 or GTO. The GTO still has plenty of room in the back seat.
