Default Love the 4l80e swap.

I dont know why I waited so long to do it. Should have done it when I blew the first 4l60e. I dont even care about the 2.48 first gear. The shifting is so much better and dosent fall on its face between gears. Im enjoying the truck much more now. How many more feel the same way or not?

I haven't done a 4L80E swap yet, but I've driven vehicles with 4L80E's and they are so much better than the vehicles with 60E's I've driven.

I plan on keeping my truck for years to come. I am very glad I did the swap. I would advise everyone that is going through tranny's to just do the swap and be done with it. Everyone that hasn't done the swap makes a big deal about the first gear, but everyone that has done it never finds a problem with it.

x2 well said.

I absolutley love my trans and shift feel. 1st gear helped me get rid of all my wheel hop i had with my 65e.

I'm in the process of going FLT Level 4-4L80E. I've ridden and driven in sharpshooter's 80E, and I'm highly impressed and I wished both of us had done the swap sooner!

If you consider it a problem, the slow downshifting is the only 'bad' thing.
I wish i would have went 80e before i even started. Wasted countless nights pullin a broken 60e out.

The 60E has it's place for sure. A well built 60E has served me well but when you demand what we do out of these trucks it's just beyond the limits of the design IMO... I liked my truck both ways but with the bigger inches and turbo, the 80E did give me more confidence to mash the throttle and not cringe.

I do have to add i hate the Unlock / lock up/ un lock at cruising speeds when you have to let off the throttle. But its most noticeable on aftermarket converters.
