i finally got time to grab the motor from a buddies place that i had it delivered to. i was too anxious to rip a head off to check out the condition of the motor (and make sure it was an actual lq9 and not a lq4 lol.

i found dog food inside of the exhaust manifolds and heads. my best guess is that some mice were storing their winter meals in my motor lol. the stuff that looks like dirt in my #1 cylinder is actually dog food that i vacuumed out. the inside of the motor looks GREAT. i cant wait to get it all together.

small update. i got the accessories that i dont need off, drained the coolant from the block, and cleaned a little. planning to spray a little paint to it tonight. the external oil cooler lines are off now too. patiently waiting on my new heads! i may end up having to fly cut the pistons. not 100% on that yet. everything is pending the heads at this point.

Why would you have to flycut? People run bigger cams than you ahve on LS2s all the time or are you milling the heads and/or going bigger on the cam. You could always go wider on the lsa to get you a little more p to v clearance...

they are opening the bowls to match the 4" bore, so i have a feeling that im guna have to mill off around .025-.035 to bring them back to 63-64 cc chambers. it makes it a PITA to flycut because they are slightly changing the angle of my valves too.

i would like to run a bigger cam, but if patrick says to stick with my current cam, i will. i would like to try out that eps 236/248 or something similar to it. but in the end its up to patrick.
