Just Missed Winning 50K

I never play the lottery, not because I think it's a waste, but mostly because I never think about playing. But the other day, I decided to play a few different types of lottery here in PA.
I dropped 10 bucks on a few different games and one of the games is where you pick 5 numbers. You can bet two different ways, and I picked the numbers to be in order, or straight.
Well, checking my numbers last night, I had 23416 and it came in as 23406.
That one number was the difference between winning nothing, and winning $50,000. Granted, 50K wouldn't change much in my life, but it sure would've made for a fast truck!

WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. - Ten co-workers at a New Jersey insurance company say they have struck it rich, winning the $216-million prize in Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing.
The country's newest multi-millionaires off the winning ticket Wednesday afternoon outside the Chubb Commercial Insurance office where they work in Whitehouse Station, Hunterdon County.
The only winning ticket was sold at a gas station in Toms River, Ocean County, New Jersey Lottery officials announced earlier in the day.
"I was the last one to know so, of course, I think it's a joke. I didn't believe them at all," said Linda Harrington, one of the winners.
The diverse group of winners found out when they went in to work Wednesday morning that they had won the lottery. They are a diverse group. They all work in the information technology department, from program analyst to the chief information officer.
"I looked at the ticket, I checked it. I looked at like everybody looking at me and I finally believed that it happened," Harrington said.
They played the lottery each week, putting in $5 a piece, and will often pay up after one of them buys the ticket.
"So, I take it out and I give him the money. And he's like, 'OK, you paid me, right?' I said, 'Yeah, I paid you,'," said Oscar Oviedo, of the winning group.
His co-worker then told him, "'OK, so now you're a millionaire.' I was like, 'What do you mean?' 'Yeah, we won.' And he showed me the tickets and I like couldn't believe it. It was great."
