Default I'm a freakin moron

No pictures yet. Burned flesh smell is strong.

I was working on a friends car. I disconnected the battery (top post),once I got done, I hooked it back up. I had a rachet with extension so I used it to reconnect the battery, rather the walk over and grab a wrench. I arked through my wedding band. I thought it was something on the engine so I didnt react at first. I moved and the arking started again (less the a second total time here). I jerked my hand back, my wedding ring went flying and my hand started thobbing. 3 fingers, and the skin below the fingers. Skin is rolling up in ***** and falling off. My ring finger, the skin split open and burned black all the way around.

I continued to clean up the tools, finish the car, and find my ring, which was still hot as fire. I came inside to see the damage, pitch black outside 10:08 pm.

Called a nurse friend, she said emergency room really couldn't do more then pain meds. So, I broke a stem off the aloe plant, and squeezed the juice on my fingers. Wrapped it up in gaze, we will see how it looks in the morning.

It's throbbing like crazy. But hey, my titanium wedding band has this really cool black anodized look now. It also has 2 holes in it.

I was thinking the same thing. The pos terminal had a rubber cover never dreamed this would happen.

The girls car runs great now. It freaked her out bad she was standing there. She kept asking what the smell was. I said it me, she didn't understand at all.

I know better. I work around low voltage all the time. In fact, I have my own business doing low voltage stuff.

Funny thing, up till rescent, I have been taking my ring off. It was a tad to big and would fall off while I worked. Finally after 2.5 years, the callas has built around it enough to hold it on.
