I think that if you put it back to stock is the best way. And I say that because its a Z71. I think people would be more likely to look at it if it looked more like a 4x4 truck than a street monster. Especially out in the valley where I live where every other truck is a lifted truck. But thats my 2 cents....

 

Bill kind of surprised to see this thread but I understand where you are coming from. I recently bought a 06 I6 TBLS. Nice vehicle for the most part but I hate the doors on this thing. I would have to think that the TBSS is about the same. Other than the doors I really like it. Living in Chicago and never having a 4wd this little soccortruck aka soctruck works well for me. And would you know a wot 2-3 shift is @ 94mph! I wish I knew about your truck before I got this one.

The truck is still around and I'm pretty sure that the new owner the price was not an issue. He wanted that truck and he got it!

This is probably your best option. I would however save the trans for your next project.
