Default How Much $$ is Too Much?

My 'Ol Lady thinks I'm Nuts!!!
And I think most of my friends do too!! because I have spent over $9,000 on parts and labor on a BRAND NEW truck.

I know some of you have spent WAY MORE than that...
What have you spent to make your truck the way you like it?

Hey, some people spend thousands on drapes for their houses. Don't sweat it.

I bought my truck USED as opposed to NEW so that I could spend a little on thing I wanted for it. At the time, NEW was $26k, I paid $16K. I've since spent $2k on 20's, $700 for converter, $235 for intake, $315 (wholesale) for S/S Catback, $300 for Hypertech, $100 on Denali interior trim, $300 for a leather interior which is still in the box, I just spent $2100 for a new 6.0L, $100 for '04 Taillights, $250 for Ultra Lift cover, $100 on grill and billet bowtie, and $300 for the Silver Faced Escalade gauges....and I think that's about it....since I've removed and sold the nitrous for what I had into it. Grand total: $22790. Once the motor and interior is installed (early April at the latest!) I will have a NEW motor and like NEW interior. I keep the truck CLEAN and it still looks great. I've driven it everyday for 3 1/2 years, and it's gotta still be worth something????...so I'm not mad at all. I've had more fun with this truck than any car I've ever had, and it is still a pleasure to drive. I look forward to driving it every single day, which is why I haven't gone too far with performance. It runs consistant 14.6 - 14.7's with a best of 14.5x on motor, and still takes down an average around 17mpg with the 5.3. I figure on recouping maybe $1000 or so on left over parts once I pull the 5.3, which makes it even better. Other than oil changes, I haven't spent 1 cent on repairs...not even brakes...and I've driven 45k miles of the 85k that are on it. Hell, I haven't even replaced the battery!

In the end, they are going to throw us all in a hole in the ground (or burn us to ashes)so what difference will it all make??? The point is, if you're happy and having fun....and not sacrificing the mortgage on mods....ENJOY!

I ahve no room to talk I will have about 20K in mods done to my truck after the 80e swap 5 of which was wasted on the built 65e and various other parts that went in the 5.3 and removed mods that I lost my *** on.
