cruising on the empty freeway last night@ about 65mph when a little BMW flies up from behind. i figure what the hell and stomp into it when he gets to my bed. i had to play a little catch up, but once we got lined up he went for it(going about 90 at this point). i had him beat by 120 but he didnt let out so i didnt either i guess my top end was higher than his because after a certain point i was leaving him bad.

by the time i let off of the gas the tach showed 6,000 rpm in 3rd gear. 3.73 rear end with toyo proxies 275/60-17. trailblazer stall if that makes a difference. anyone have a calculator to see where i was. my speedo stops at 120

a dodge hemi watched me waste the BMW so he decided to give me a shot. it took him a LONG time to catch up to us lol. anyways i laid him out too. im guessing he was atleast programmed because he could take it past 100.

whats our transmission ratio? 1.1?

if so... you were doing 130 @ 6000 rpms.

 

pretty darn fast,

i purposly put a 125 top speed limiter on my truck due to so many driveshafts breaking on trucks already..

 

ecsb means 72" shaft right? Yeh...bad news losing one of those at 130.

the calculator dewmanshu posts shows 138.5. im pretty sure its over 130 because im runnin 120mph when the tach sits exactly on 5000(which the calculator dosent agree with?

this calculator also agrees with me going 120 at 5000 rpm, so i feel more comfortable using this one for reference since everything agrees.

how are yall coming up with 125-130?

 

With my 265/70 17 and 3.73's in thirs at 5750 it came to 141, or at least thats what a few people came up with, if that gives you any idea.

 

3rd gear on the dyno for me was around 140mph @ 6500

 

how do you figure third gear....dont our trucks have 4......if they have 3 i will discontinue my membership to this site
