Default Help ID this Fish please

A friend caught this in one of the swamps this weekend. Thinking its a small Muskie?
Just sent it to the game warden to see if he can find anything out on it.

we have no idea..
The Bayou Pierre creek over flows into these swamps. But this creek flows from the south east to the north west and there is no other large creek that flows into it. So.... have no clue where it could have come from.
