Default Happy Happy Crunch

Well, I have mentioned I am letting my Dad drive my yukon and I am driving the old 89 pickup. We descided to go out and look at the new house. He jumped in and started backing out the drive. We were looking at a tree and thinking man that tree is in a bad place when WHAM, he backed into another tree.

Now the yukon needs a back bumper, and major quarter panel help. I will get some pics of it tomorrow. It is bent and twisted. The quarter is pushed away from the lift gate.

Dad was upset and kept apologizing. I showed him the video of the 6.0L supercharged blazer being driven, he is in a little better mood now.

Oh well, life goes on. I am glad we were in the yukon and nothing of his. Could have been worse. Wasn't being fast or reckless but he was accelerating over a roll in the drive and lost his way a bit.

It's alright Dad, vehicles are fixible, people are not.

Oh yeh, I forgot to mention. 3:30 this afternoon, I found out I have degenerative disc disease. So yeh, not only have I been through a misserable year and half fighting back pain, I get to fight it for the rest of my life. Suddenly, the yukon thing doesnt seem so important!!!

Called the insurance company. They couldn't quit laughing thats someone else other than me had hit something else unmovable. Life goes on, but man poor truck.

Also, found out that my spine is advanced further then one would think for me only being 26. Without treatment my neck could sieze. All the vertebrea will fuse together, and I will no longer be able to move my head. This will also bring with it a permanent headache. This could in time put me in a wheel chair.

He was waiting for me to get upset. He couldn't figure out why I didn't. I built a show truck when I was 18. I descided then, if I was more worried about the truck then a human life, my priorities were way off.

If I were able to shell out some serious money, the doc says he could treat me and slow it down, possibly stave it off long enough that I may never be effected by it. I would have to go see him multiple times a week for several weeks at $50 a visit. Then he would scale me back to once a week, once every other week, then back to once a month. For right now, he says for me to come in when I am hurting bad and he will releave the pain. He was pretty surprised how rough he could be with me and not even phase me, said my pain threshhold is pretty high. That might be a good thing for the road I am heading down.

Doesn't look like insurance will cover any of it. I will likely have to pay out of pocket for all of it. Hopefully I can get that kinda money together before I get to where I am no longer able to function normally.

The big downer here, is the only definite is it is going to happen. The only if is will it be next year or when I am 50's. There is no way anyone can know the success of the treatment. I know of other people in my shoes, and they were much older when diagnosed and went down hill quickly.
