Nope, no cats here. I just installed injectors recently, but I was having these problems before I did that, so I don't think they're the problem.

I'm not sure if i'm buying this one, but i'm pretty much stuck on an ext cab. This one is a white 05, 5.3, ls. Nothing too special, just a nice clean truck.

 

A leak anywhere in between the MAF and front 02 will cause a fuel trim. IIRC. even a header leak i think

 

Yeah, that's pretty much correct. Just thinking about it, if you had an air leak in the exhaust before the front O2 sensor that would allow extra oxygen into the exhaust and show the computer that your truck was running lean. That would then tell the computer to up the fuel trims to compensate for being lean. I am not sure if that would affect the LTFT's as much as it would the STFT's though.

 

This is just my opinion... The cam you have is pretty much useless at idle (increased compression would help alot), it is VERY inefficient at idle that is why it idles like crap, now add in that small diameter verter that is very sensitive to slightest idle variation and the problem grows even bigger..... I had a similar problem with mine... One of the problems you had was that vacuum leak, which made all the previous logs and tune adjustment worthless, cause you were trying to tune out an intake leak. Now that it is fixed, new logs are needed. Log those PIDs i sent you those should help with the RAF... Also bumping the Startup Friction table will help with startup... There is alot more adjustments that might/should need to be done to several other tables... I told you that cam would take alot of logging/adjustments to idle decently, it may never be perfect... Also i think bumping up the idle to 850 might help some, my idle is set at 800 for comparision.... But i will help ya...

 

quick question guys, when I am logging and spraying carb cleaner on **** to find the air leak, should i look at the long term or short term fuel trims and what should i be looking for?

 

I would watch the o2 sensors to go lean. It will take too long for the fuel trims to change, and you might not catch the leak.

 

would a higher or lower number (0.300 or 0.900) be going lean?
