Getting your sharps and flats down is what i had trouble with. I couldn't tune my old guitar without a tuner so i'd know its on the right note.

checkout the esteban tutorial and once you figure out your finger placements and learn how to read tabs the rest is just getting it down in a good rythm.

 

Best thing is to pick up a book from any music shop. It'll show you how to play chords, then just play with it. I have been playin for almost a year and a half now. Still not very good by my self but if you throw someone in that can play lead, I can keep a good rythm goin... Try to find people around you that play too... I've learned most of my stuff off other people
