Winters here *** pound the living crap out of my truck. I oil it before the first snowfall and after the last and it's still starting to rust out. I don't think the guy before me ever coated it so I don't know if I'm fighting a losing battle. The frame was fine when I bought it, now I'm just mad. Had to put new brakes, new tires on it and new wheel bearing but that's it, and a new u-joint in the transfer case. It's worth it though, nice having 4x4 in the winter when your passing all the snobs in there mercedes in the snow spinning like a DJ on meth.

I hear ya on that, guy that had my truck didnt undercoat it at all, and the rockers are shot, paint on the front fenders are peeling and the paint on the edge of the hood has a little bit of peel, all this is getting fixed this summer hopefully, and hopefully wont see winter again

Mine....225k miles

Needs:
- Driver seat bracket fixed (recline) works but seat wiggles
- new upholstery: carpet has stains, leather is starting to crack
- new tint...peeling
- windshield has cracks
- rear window needs re-sealing....Why the hell GM didn't do a better job?!?!
- brakes prolly....work but not as they use to
- front bumper (got smashed by good friend in an Avalanche)

The rest will just be "upgrades".

well I dont feel so alone now, but still, 190 for a new power window unit. 520 for a encoder motor, about 100 for a new blower motor resistor, probably 100 bucks each for window switches and mirror switches, couple dollars for leds for dash bulbs, probably 1000 for rocker panels

jeeeez

My console lid closes kinda funny too; I have to wiggle it a lil to open.

I have a Radix in the den; my cam, rockers, & cam springs under my bed.

My rear window seals great, but doors don't have that nice vacuum sound when they seal out outside noise anymore( thanks to the T-bone hit) If u r letting good friends hit u, I think they prolly need brakes?

I'm w/ you. I have more to upgrade I think than fix. Since new, I've put a tail lite bulb in. Under warranty, GM replaced radio when 2 buttons didn't lite anymore, intermed. steer'g shaft, & o2 sensor. I use to tap on the dual zone heat-A/C since light was out @ times, fine now.
I still need to get another interm. steer'g shaft since prob came back, & o2 either get new or tune out w/ HPT. These are little nagging items.

Big ticket items: repair lower boxside crease behind tire.
TRANS- slippin, want to upgrade b4 Radix install. Put in better rearend parts too.

Maintenance: new tires after almost 49k hard miles. Check brakes( I prefer to upgrade if funds allow.)
I have less issues but more $ to put out.

CC, did your window regulator go out or your pwr window unit? What side(s)?
I'm unaware of what an encoder motor is. I think rockers will be way below $1k, unless u included labor in that.

well within that year I have had my truck it has got a new trans, front axle had a bad seal, pitman arm, idles arm, inner and outer tie rod ends, brakes, at least one rotor think that is all that had to be done.
